Diesel Advantage
What is a Diesel and what are the benefits of owning a Diesel?
Invented in 1892 by German engineer Rudolf Diesel, the diesel engine is an internal combustion engine which operates using the “Diesel Cycle”. A diesel engine uses compression ignition, a process by which fuel is ignited after the air is compressed in the combustion chamber causing the fuel to self ignite. By contrast a gasoline engine mixes fuel and air before entering the combustion chamber and is ignited by a spark plug.
Diesel engines are more efficient than gasoline engines of the same power because of lower fuel consumption. You can expect 20 to 40 percent more miles per gallon along with power, performance, reliability and longevity! Cleaner emissions are also some of the great improvements you can expect from diesels today, making the black cloud a thing of the past! Another advantage to consider is the resale value of a diesel, which can be 25% or higher than a gasoline powered auto!
Robust construction, longer service life, fuel efficiency and overall VALUE are what make a diesel auto great to own…the words “diesel” and “drivability” have finally become synonymous! View our
