Buying a Used Mercedes C250

“...more than enough acceleration to feel fast on your daily commute.”

Is the Mercedes C250 Right for You?

The Mercedes C250 is the smallest and least expensive Sedan that Mercedes made between 2012-2015. Besides being at the entry level price point for Mercedes it is also smaller and sportier than other C-Class models. This makes it lighter than the Mercedes C300 which allows its 1.8L engine to provide more than enough acceleration to feel fast on your daily commute. With only a 1.8L engine it's really the Turbo that provides its performance but you won't find any turbo lag here. Most reviews point out the lack of Turbo Lag that the Mercedes C250 has. For those who like Rear Wheel Drive, the Mercedes C250 came in RWD only. As a side note the Mercedes C250 did not (in any model year) have a 4MATIC option, which is okay because rear wheel drive is more fun anyway! The 7 Speed shiftable automatic transmission also adds to the performance, in fact, the way it shifts is one of the main differences in the "Sport" mode which essentially stops it from short shifting. Short shifting saves fuel so sport mode lowers gas mileage but boosts performance. Another added benefit of the smaller engine is noise reduction, the engine is very powerful compared to the noise it produces. The C250 is, in general, defiantly a sport leaning model but all in all a great entry level Mercedes Sedan.
